Digital camera reviews of Western Digital WDXMS2500TN Passport 250 GB USB Portable Hard DriveDigital camera Review: I couldn't live without my Passport. Summary: 5 StarsI recently purchased the WD 250GB Passport after using a Maxtor One Touch external hard drive for the last three years. I have a very specific use for this portable device which, as its name suggests, is roughly the size of a passport. I use it for the backup storage of my entire iTunes music library consisting of more than 10,000 songs maintained on my desk top computer (with a Windows 2000 operating system) and on my IBM T41 Thinkpad (with a Windows XP operating system). (It holds up to 62,000 songs, or 71,000 photos.) It works without any problems whatsoever on both systems. Based upon my personal experience with the WD 250GB Passport, there are at least six reasons why I would recommend this state-of-the-art portable hard drive to anyone considering purchasing such a device:
1. It is compatible with either a Mac or PC as storage unit.
2. It utilizes a USB connection and requires no external power source.
3. It features Google software for searching and managing files.
4. It is light-weight (weighing less than 4 ounces), has a sleek, glossy black design, and mine included a padded black case.
5. It is very easy to use, even for someone (like me), who isn't too computer savvy.
6. It offers a 3-year limited warranty.

Digital camera Review: just perfect Summary: 5 StarsIt delivers exactly what I needed at a very competitive price. I re-formatted the disk using NTSF (it came as FAT32) and now I can backup files and databases of any size from my desktop. Performance is more than adequate to my needs.
Digital camera Review: Works flawlessly with the 12" Powerbook G4 1.33 GHz Summary: 5 StarsThis 250GB drive is actually 232GB. Works flawlessly with a 12" Powerbook G4. No Y-adapter needed.
Digital camera Review: Great convenience, decent performance Summary: 4 StarsThis is pretty much just what I was looking for - a large, portable, no AC req'd HD. It's the best deal I could find on the market. Only slight downside is performance is not as strong as it would be w/ a HD w/ more power.
I use it w/ Mac OS X Leopard as a Time Machine backup disk, and aside from taking 36 hours to initialize for first run (not uncommon according to Apple website) it's been terrific ever since - I just plug it in every few days, and os x does my backup behind the scenes.
Digital camera Review: Its small and powerful Summary: 5 StarsI am a global traveller and backup all my data where every possible. This was very easy to use via USB on my standard Dell 620, encryption software and password protection if required.
The size for the price WOW. My whole drive was backed up plus all DVDs/CDs I required for training were on this little power house.
This was stored in a travel pouch and left in my case as back up to laptop. No problems to date. A great back up device..
I am still playing ...
