Digital camera reviews of Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate EditionDigital camera Review: Excellent for jp1 Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent remote and receiver package. It works great right out of the box. But this is an ideal product if your goal is to incorporate Windows Media Center control into a JP1 remote (search for JP1 at wikipedia). The remote's commands and protocols have been decoded and can be downloaded as an upgrade. To find it, do a search on the following terms "Windows MCE remote VRC1100 zaldwaik"
If your goal is to get Windows Media Center working with your jp1 remote, this is what you want.
[I had tried to post this with direct links, but they got deleted by amazon. Hopefully the search terms I've given will be nearly as helpful]
Digital camera Review: Excellent if quirky Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as many have done for an ir receiver so I could use my Logitech Harmony 880 remote as my good lady loaths it (she is far from being a techie, etc). I waited a month before writing a review.
It is literally a plug and play device with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, but a small piece of double sided tape would have been a nice touch, as without such keeping the sensor in the place you wish is not always easy. Saying that though I do agree it is a bit like a Cylon Centurion blinking at you when it has an incoming signal and the red light flashing.
As this lives on the computer in our bedroom I handed the remote to the better half as I use the Harmony that took a little research to find the correct settings for (thanks previous poster) the Harmony and it is working well for me. She uses it in conjunction with the TV remote as that is more to her liking (I don't argue LOL#, but is has helped me convert her to WMC, especially as we have the Netflix add in. Saying that, the mouse button has come in handy with a quirk using Netflix on demand when one wishes to move onto the next episode of whatever season of a show you are watching. Using the navigation arrows frequently make the other shows behind the show you are watch scroll through the choices. A simple move of the mouse re-centers the remote so you can down button to another episode. Odd and a quirk but don't know whether to blame the remote or the Netflix add in.
So phase one in my plan to convert my good lady to WMC actually worked so onto phase two of putting in a TV tuner #Avertv HD Duet from Amazon, and if it works I will put as second one in for the maximum 4 tuners allowed by WMC) which I will do next week and probably update this after a little usage with both.
Over all good value for the money as I killed two birds with one stone.
Digital camera Review: Excellent product Summary: 5 Stars
If your looking for a remote for Media Center or just a computer remote this is the only one you will need.
I have 3 different kinds of remotes for my pc & this was the last one i bought & it's the best so far.
I recommend it.
Digital camera Review: Excellent product. Summary: 5 Stars
The product is excellent, works perfectly, as saying.
Although my room is not big I can manage my computer from anywhere in the room without problems.
You control WMC, also I can control windows media player, k-lite codec pack, power dvd and other applications, including its integrated mouse allows me to control the windows explorer.
The apparatus includes only batteries and infrared sensor but it is more than sufficient, without waste and without things we will never use.
Regarding the quality of the device, everything from the plastic casing to the rubber buttons and inaccuracies of these are of excellent quality.
Incredibly for windows is the first product that truly meets the plug and play technology, no software installation or annoying then updated.
I recommend this product 100%.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic Remote Summary: 5 Stars
This is an absolutely amazing remote, especially for such a low price. It works like a charm with my Win 7 Home Premium Media Center, and does about everything except take pictures and videos. Put in the batteries and plug in the receiver and you're good to go. 'Nough said.
