I am not a computer guy at all. But I took my computer to a guy that is when I was having trouble viewing certain videos. He told me that I needed to upgrade my video card. So, naturally I went to Amamzon.com for my research and decided on this one. Great graphics, easy to install, outstanding pics. Once I got it, opened the box, 15 mins later, I have it installed and running and I was very pleased. My games, pics, websites, and programs are sharper and like I said the graphics are great. I wanted to play Doom 3 on my computer, however, it was choppy (at the lowest settings) with the 64 MB GeForce 550Mx that came with the computer. So I looked around and saw this card. This card plays Doom 3 easily at High (800x600), no playing with overclocking or anything. So I'm quite happy with it's performance even when I probably could get more out of this card.
Installation of the card was relatively simple. Took the normal 30 minutes from start to finish. It may of been simplier for me as I was upgrading from an NVidia based card to another NVidia based card Make sure to download the updated NVidia drivers from NVidia's site. The installation of the updated drivers is quick and painless.
This package comes with an S-Video cable, so you can go to the television, which is always a nice option. Why play a game on a small television when you can do it on a large television? Also has a DVI connector too.
So far, I'm happy with this card, for what I want from it. It may not be up to snuff for today's applications, but if you are looking at running older games, this inexpensive card is a great option!
