My amplifier, DVR, and CD player are all in my office. The remote reciever sits below the TV. I can control everything from the Living room, but I don't have to look at any of it. It is not a wireless device, so I did have to run a wire from one room to another. There are other devices that can do that, but that is not what I expected or wanted.
This device does exactly what it says it will do, and that's exactly what I wanted.
