Digital camera reviews of Xpad (Non-slip Laptop Cooler and Heatshield)Digital camera Review: works great, even for large laptops Summary: 5 StarsI love this laptop pad. I have a 17-inch laptop (dell inspiron 9400) and when I place it on the xpad, the "legs" do cover part of the two vents on the laptop. To avoid this problem, I turn the pad sideways. The non-slip raised legs hold the laptop in place without covering the vents and its still very comfortable on my lap. The corners are slightly rounded, I don't have any discomfort with the xpad on my lap. To me, this is the perfect solution--no fans, no connections, lightweight, less expensive, easy to use. I am using it now--the laptop is not getting hot and the pad is not getting hot either. I would strongly recommend that you try this before a more expensive, fan-type product.
Digital camera Review: Keep it cool, your lap that is. Great Product Summary: 5 StarsThis item works as described. I use it on my widescreen HP pavilion, no more HOT left leg - that is where the HP's fan is. It is non skid and comfortable to have on the lap for hours. I also use it when on the counter. It rasises it up off the counter about an inch and helps with overall airflow of the laptop.
This unit is passive, not plugged in. The plug in models can get noisy and also take the chance to burn out the USB port of your computer. Go for a passive unit and get this one.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic, look no further Summary: 5 StarsThe Xpad4laptop is the best [...] bucks I've spent in a long time. Lightweight, comfortable on the lap. Easy to grab if you want to move the laptop and the pad at once. The pad doesn't slip. My laptop doesn't burn my legs anymore. Top notch. My father in law has one of those bulky Griffin laptop pads. He is SOOO jealous of mine. Less than an inch thick. I love this thing!
Digital camera Review: Simple Product, Works Well Summary: 4 StarsI was looking for pad that would lessen heat from laptop computer, but would not involve fan, usb, etc. This fits the bill, it cools by simply raising the laptop to allow better air circulation. It grips the computer well, so no slipping; it's light weight, so it's comfortable on your lap and easy to pack when traveling. Had read reviews of another fanless pad, but several reviewers said computer slipped off the pad when used on their lap. I wanted one I could use either on desk or lap, and have been very pleased with this one. It definitely lowers the heat, but probably not as well as one with a fan. But, if you're looking for pad that is easy to use, lowers the heat enough so that you don't "feel the burn", and is relatively inexpensive you'll probably be pleased with this. If you're looking for complete cooling, or a pad that tilts or is adjustable, then pass on this one.
Digital camera Review: 20 plus 6 dollars shipping = I paid way too much Summary: 2 Starsthis isn't a BAD product, but it is still a rip-off There simply isn't enough materials/workmanship that went into this to justify the cost - it's a square of plastic with rubber pads on top - that's it, no more, no less. I trusted the scores of positive reviews here on Amazon, and I got burned. If it cost what it should, $12.99 all told, it'd be worth it.
