My beautiful desk was being ruined by my laptop. It has an antique painted finish that was cracking from the heat of my laptop. The Xpad is the perfect solution. I've had my X-Pad for over a year and have bought several for gifts. My computer doesn't go anywhere without it - my lap, the desk, on travel, etc.... It has saved the coolant fan on my laptop - very rarely comes on. I researched this product and several others before buying this one. This is a great product! I did my research on a lap mat for my laptop and was very disappointed with many models until I read about this one. I ordered it because it received so many good reviews and was not another powered item I would have to deal with. My laptops [and I own 3] are all on elevating tools on desks to keep them running cool and I wanted something that would fit on the laptop I use while sitting in my chair or in bed with ease. This does just that! I ordered it on Tuesday evening and Thursday afternoon I recieved it with standard shipping which was amazing. I immediately put my laptop on it and I know I will not remove it. It is wonderful! I love it! I own HP Pavillions and the 15" screen model fits perfectly on it. It does keep the heat off my knees and thighs. My laptop does not slip either. Some of the reviews said the chill mat was expensive but what isn't these days? The expense will pay for itself I am sure with no more iritated skin and less strain on the computer. It is light so it will be easy to travel with. I intend to order more and give them as Christmas gifts. This is a great assessory and I am sure with normal care it will last a long time. Thanks again for a great product and especially the great fast shipping! Since I am traveling next week I appreciated the item arriving so quickly even more. Sure it fits, and if you put it under your laptop while its on your lap, it protects you from feeling the heat. But it does not cool one bit, I was very disappointed.
