Digital camera reviews of Xtreme N Duo Mediabridge, 5-PORT 10/100 Switch, Dualband, Draft 802.11NDigital camera Review: D-Link's Media Bridge Is A Winner Summary: 5 Stars
Application: Bridge Mode (Currently Running N/G mode - 2.4 Ghtz - Averaging 78 mbps and registering 52% signal strength - Bridge about 150 ft from Router).
Why did I buy this??? Well, my home is too large for Wireless "G" devices and the Xbox 360 USB Wireless A/B/G Adapter did not have the bandwidth and coverage to connect to my wireless router. This distance contributed to slow, choppy games and sometimes the Xbox didn't even connect at all. I have a D-Link DGL-4500 Wireless Gaming Router which is my Access Point (AP) and have had no problems setting up and configuring this Media Bridge to it.
Be advised though...Don't expect to get wired LAN connection speeds, because you only get that from a wired LAN connection. Possibly could obtain better performance from this bridge with another Media Bridge connected to my AP(max performance), but who has another $200 to spend. Anyways, I will say that it's far better than any "G" adapter/bridge/access point on the market. Noticeable improvement over "G" and well worth the purchase. Thanks D-Link!
