Digital camera Review: I couldn't be happier after hooking up this HDMI switcher!
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product! Simply put: I hooked it up in minutes, and it has worked perfectly since. My situation: My 2-year-old LG 50-inch plasma has one HDMI port. I wanted to connect my Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR, BluRay player, HD-DVD player and Apple TV. Plugged it all in and used a good optical audio cable from the TV to the Onkyo receiver. Again, connected all in no time, and no problems using since. As others have done, I programmed my Harmony 880 to eliminate the native remote. It was a bit tricky adding the switcher as a device, but I eventually just selected a device I didn't have, but then typed in "extremehd" as the manufacturer. The Harmony 880 recognized this reference, and installed it as an "xtrememac" device. Now, everything runs from a single HDMI connection, and I enjoy seamless use of all on my remote. Great value for the price!

Digital camera Review: Junk!
Summary: 1 Stars

I tried two of these units. I couldn't get the first one to work because I didn't realize that all attached equipment must be hooked up and must be "turned on" also. To me it seems ridiculous that a piece of electronic equipment doesn't just power up when switched on like every other piece of equipment I've ever owned. I spoke to their tech support and they said it had something to do with internal relays. Bad design.
Second try. Seemed to work OK but it constantly caused my DirecTV box to lock up requiring a reset. Then it started turning off at random and I couldn't get it turned back on (even with all the equipment turned on). Because I couldn't turn it on when I wanted to it became unusable. Also, I have an Apple TV an like the fact that it stacked nicely with it and looked similar. However the Apple TV is aluminum and I really thought the HDMI switcher would be too. But it is silver PLASTIC and therefore not the same exact color and texture as the ATV. Also although the shape is very close it is not exactly the same. This may be a minor complaint for some but I feel like they realy promote the fact that it "matches" the Apple TV and was dissapointed that it really doesn't. Bottom line is I returned it and will be looking into other brands of switchers. I really wanted to like this unit but it just doesn't cut it for me. I see some others seem to really like it. They obviously have had a better experience and perhaps don't use it with a DirecTV box.

Digital camera Review: Just what I needed.
Summary: 5 Stars

This unit is so easy to use. I have my HD cable box, Apple TV and Bose System all hooked up through this one unit. Excellent and it sits under the Apple TV as it is the exact same size. Great product. Very quick shipping as well.

Digital camera Review: Never received it
Summary: 1 Stars

I'd be glad to review this product, if I had received it, five weeks after ordering it.
Since it was a birthday gift, the delay was "slightly inconvenient".
I'm still hopeful the birthday boy will eventually get it--but it is unconscionable of the company not to alert the customer to a realistic delivery date.
Bottom line: if you are interested in this product, buy it from somebody else.

Digital camera Review: Nice and easy
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently purchased an Apple TV, but my Samsung LCD TV only had two HDMI inputs. I suddenly found myself with 3 HDMI devices and 2 HDMI ports. I ended up buying the Terk HDMI swtich, due to the good reviews here on Amazon, but it never worked. My Samsung's auto-sensing ports didn't even detect a signal being sent to the TV. I called both Samsung and Terk (Audiovox) to see if they could help me to get it to work, but neither was able to do so. I ended up returning it.

After more and more searching, I read about the monopause swtich, since it got good reviews, but then I came across more and more negative ones. Finally I came across the XtremeHD switcher. I loved the design, that it touted compatibility with the Apple TV, and was from a familiar company (XtremeMac). As I did more research on it, however, I found many people saying it didn't work with Samsung TV's. I even called XtremeMac, and they said it probably wouldn't.

A long story short, I ended up buying it, and it worked fine. I just plugged in the HDMI cables, and I was up and running. No issues whatsoever.

Needless to say, great switch. Nice and easy to setup, looks great, easily stackable with the Apple TV.. I'm really happy with this thing.
