Digital camera reviews of Zen V Plus 8GB Black/red Carry Music Video Clips & Photos Eng/frDigital camera Review: Excellent player Summary: 5 Stars
I shopped for a long time for a MP3 player and chose the Zen Plus V because it has the line-in record. This feature is excellent for capturing songs off old cassettes and the radio or internet sites. There is no need to use this for CDs if you have a PC since it is better to rip a CD on a PC and then load it to the Zen. The sync manager with cassettes does not separate the songs out if you just start the tape and let it play. So this is a short coming. It will separate the songs if you monitor it and stop it after each song. The sound quality for the Plus V is good. The toggle button is small as other viewers mention, but I have not found it to be a problem. I have had it lock up only one tiem on me. It was under very heavy recording usage at the time. I hit the reset button and everything restored correctly. I also bought the extended warranty because of the problems I read in the reviews with lockup. So far it has not been much of an issue. I would highly receommned this player and recorder. The line in record feature is good for people who want to transfer old cassettes and I also use it to record public presentations and speeches I do.
Digital camera Review: Funky little player! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this player because it has the largest storage capacity from all the flash players in the market.
I owned an Iriver H10 and I loved it music quality, I thought it can't get any better then this. Once it got tired from working and had huge amount of bugs, I decided to buy Creative.
The music sounds just as good as it did on the Iriver(!!!), very well built, great UI and easy to use.
I think that on this case you can actually say it is TOO small, that's right. With this great screen you would like it to be bit bigger. Another thing I didn't check is weather it supports your language, in my case - no Hebrew and that kind of sucks.
Great choice! Has to be the best one among the flash players today, it got just about everything you need and more!
Digital camera Review: Good as a replacement not as a commitment Summary: 3 Stars
I'll cut to the chase.
No doubt this mp3 player has a lot of features, but being a previous owner of a Samsung YP-Z5AB 4 GB Digital Audio Player (Black) I felt let down by this Zen's performance. For starters, it takes a little more than 5 seconds to power on; the yp-z5 took less than a second! When you skip songs there's about a 2 1/5 second lag. Now my yp-z5 did lag... but that was after owning it for a year not when it was brand new! The 'scratch proof OLED display'? Think again; this thing has only been in my pocket and since day three I noticed a scratch on it. Come on! This week I just noticed the side volume button to be a little defected.. like it wouldn't go up/down right away. Same with the pause/play button, rarely would it do the opposite.
Now the good news is this thing has a lot of extras! Video play back is pretty decent with clips that don't have a lot of action. The Zen comes with software that encodes the video to a special .avi format which is probably four times as much as the regular size. This thing also allows you to add your own background and album art along with preset text colors aka themes. I really like that feature because it makes everything easier to read. With the FM radio you can preset a station and record (something i have yet to master) and are also able to record alone as well.
One problem I have with the features is the shuffle mode. Now, I don't know about the next person but I am a fan of shuffle. I used to be able to shuffle albums, artists alone, etc. But here I can only random play everything which is under DJ mode. In order to see the track list you have to press the joystick but it does not go in that order; its a surprise!
All in all I'd have to say I wish I could have waited for the new Sony mp3 player; but I was and still am on a budget so I'm pretty content with this mp3 player. It does what it says (minus the OLED protection) at a good price unlike other 8GB media players. If you're looking for a short term replacement then this might be your answer. This thing is no way horrible, just little things I wish wouldn't happen.
Digital camera Review: Good, if you haven't been using Ipod before Summary: 3 Stars
This is a nice gadget, but as i lost my Ipod, i thought of a cheaper options. When i got it i wasn't satisfied with the interface it had(Music quality is good). Very confusing as compared to an Ipod. I returned it and got a new Nano.
I would say buying an old Ipod can be a good option if you are a Ipod user already.
Digital camera Review: Great Machine - Plenty of Bookmarks Summary: 5 Stars
Great machine--plenty of bookmarks to keep your place. I bought this as a gift for my wife who listens to classes more than to music.
I selected this player specifically because it has multiple bookmarks. She had a two-to-three day learning curve to become familiar with all the features and now she loves it.
Whenever we drive together, we play one of her classes using a Kensington FM transmitter so the Zen plays through the car speakers--it's wonderful. Sounds great, works great, and as far as I could tell, this has more bookmarks than any other machine I could find.
This MP3 player was selected as one of the top five players by CNET Review Editors.
