I purchased this converter because it has the analog pass-through feature. I am quite satisfied with that feature. I have no plans to use the timer fuction for recording programs although I am running through a VCR. I read only the minimal instructions to hook up the converter so I could watch either digital or analog TV and may consider some of the converters other features later. The picture quality is excellent but I may have to look into adjusting the aspect on a couple channels. We had previously purchased another DTV converter which kept giving us a "reminder" that we would have to purchase an (expensive) on-roof antenna if we wished to receive a good signal. Fortunately, we did further research and found that this product has better reception, fewer and shorter "reminders" and is in all ways superior to the ACCESS CD model we had previously purchased.Digital camera Review: Converter box

Purchased the converter box for use in my office on the television we have there. It was inexpensive and works well. The remote makes it easy to turn the box on and off and also adjusts the volume on the television so you don't have to use two remotes. BUY THE ANTENNA AT THE SAME TIME!!!!! Great product, but the antenna IS mandatory!
I did not know to buy the antenna with it. I am a cable person, but without cable right now. I ordered the box to watch the openeing ceremonies for the 2010 Olympics. When I realized I needed the antenna I ordered it right away, but due to shipping issues it still has not arrived. Now I have missed most of the Olympics all together and am still waiting on the antenna. Box works great though.
