Digital camera Review: Basic converter box for a reasonable price gets the job done

My previous converter was by Dolby. Dolby didn't have the different screen resolution options but the resolution was a tiny bit clearer. This converter is much easier to set up - no need to read directions that come with it. The remote control is rather cheap and I'll be lucky if the numbers on the buttons last 3 months, which is the warranty period. The power cord is so short I will need to get an extension cord for it to reach from the entertainment center to the wall. This is rather irritating as I hate extension cord "rat nests as they are messy looking and a fire hazard. $40 seems to be the average price for a converter box. Hopefully this one will last longer then the Dobly converter box that didn't even last a full year.Digital camera Review: Best choice

This product has an excellent picture and is easy to set up and use. I like that I can scan for one channel at a time manually and add it to my list. This is the fourth different converter box I have worked with and I like this one the best. I have used the following:
DTVpal - nice menus and EPG, but the picture quality is relatively poor
Philco - good picture quality, but doesn't allow you to change 16:9/4:3 aspect ratio without going to menu. This is annoying since some programming is better viewed one way or the other.
AccessHD 1080- Decent picture quality, decent menus, but the machine itself is a little slow and the menus are not as a nice as the Zinwell.
Now to the Zinwell. Great picture, great menus, fast menus, fast setup, functional remote, aspect ratio change button on the remote. If you still don't have a converter box and you're looking to get one - get this one. I ordered off Amazon with a coupon and the unit was free with free shipping.

Bought this to replace a Dish Network converter that died after a year. This one pulls in more channels using an indoor antenna than any tuner I've tried, including expensive HD over the air digital TV tuners. That to me is the single most important feature.
