First, I'd like to say I don't have my Zune dock hooked up to a TV for video out so I won't be reviewing that part of the product.
With that said, this dock is awesome. I've had it a few weeks, the remote is great. It's got faceplates to be compatible with the Zune 30, 4/8, and 80. I love just lounging around where my HiFi stereo setup is and listening to my whole collection on shuffle. The remote control of the Zune is nice & responsive like you're using the controls on the Zune.
I give the sound an 'A', it's superb but I want to leave room for improvement. I was really impressed with how my mp3's were sounding even compared to the original CD/WAV source on my computer. Between this and the car kit, you'll always have a full charge on your battery.

If you purchase a Zune, and already have a home theater system, the Home AV Pack is a must. CD's no longer needed. Also charges Zune.
Note: Because resolution output to the TV is the same as that placed on your 3" Zune screen, you probably won't be pleased with watching videos or movies. However the resolution is fine for searching for a certain CD to play, which is all I use it for. Play movies on your DVD player.

I purchased the Zune Home AV Pack 2 for two reasons.
One, I wanted an easier way to charge my Zune. Plugging it in through the USB cord into my laptop just created a more hectic space filled with wires and gadgets around my workspace. The AV Pack 2 comes with a very compact USB adapter that you could use to charge your Zune either using the USB cable and charging it directly, or connecting the adapter with the dock which makes it very convenient to listen to music without worrying about it losing battery life.
This brings me to my second reason which is playing music from my Zune through my speakers with ease. The AV Pack 2 comes with the dock that I mentioned earlier. The dock charges your Zune, and also allows you to control your Zune using the remote that comes with this whole pack. The dock made my Zune an audio center. I simply plug Zune into my speakers and control it from my bed, couch, and anywhere.
I recommend the Zune Home AV Pack 2 for anyone who just wants to make their Zune more dynamic for home use.
