Digital camera reviews of Zune Home AV Pack v2Digital camera Review: Easy home listening Summary: 5 Stars
The AV Pack v2 works great with my Zune 124 - easy to install and connect, easy to move. I esp. like that it has the new AC adapter, which I can use with my USB cable for the Zune. Remote works surprisingly well from everywhere in the room, including the 30' diagonal. Very happy with it.
Note: I only use it for music, connected to my audio setup, so I can't review the video capabilities. But for audio, it's great, and with the Zune 120, cranking it through the big speakers, shuffling my 15,000 songs is great and convenient.
Digital camera Review: Essential for watching podcasts. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm glad I held out on buying this until a few months ago.
After the Zune HD launch, the price of past gen Zune accessories dropped. I paid $30 for this and now, in retrospect I would have paid twice as much.
I don't have cable (I hate cable) and love that I pick what I watch when I want to watch it, commercial free. Podcasts are where it's at and this device is the vessel that delivers them to my living room.
Nuts and bolts:
-Easy to hook up: Plus in just like a dvd player.
-Remote works great: The buttons on the remote look just like the buttons on the Zune.
-Displays in old y/r/w and modern r/g/b/r/y
Digital camera Review: Essential product for your zune Summary: 5 Stars
Our family loves our 4 Zunes but we also like to listen to music together. There aren't many speaker docks for the Zune and the one we tried didn't work well and we had difficulty with the docking connection. The Zune Home AV Pack V2 with a good set of computer speakers turned out to be a much better solution.
This set includes the dock (with an integrated USB cable), an A/C charger which accepts the USB plug, a composite video cable, and a remote. It has jacks for audio, composite video, and component video (which is better.) If you want to use component video you need to provide your own cable. Only the Zune 30, 80, and 120 support video output. I believe the 4/8/16 don't have this capability.
The remote mimics the Zune controls so it is easy and convenient to use. The base is sturdy and our Zune slips in easily and connect every time. The A/C charger, as advertised, is compact and convenient.
We got ours for 2/3 of retail. It is now less than 1/2 retail. A very good deal, don't hesitate to get it at this price.
This is a better solution over a 3rd party Zune speaker dock for us because:
- You can choose the quality of the speakers you want to hook up, including using a subwoofer or not, or use your home stereo system.
- You can separate the speakers to enhance the stereo effect.
- You can mount the computer/mp3 speakers on the wall saving valuable desk space.
- The remote handles all of the Zune's functions (you need to be looking at the screen for navigation). The dock we bought only had play/stop, on/off, and volume. Surprisingly you can see the screen of a Zune 30 or 80 from a good distance away.
What we didn't like as much (not this item's fault):
- It introduces more wires than a consolidated dock.
- No alarm clock functionality
So if you are neat with your wires and don't need an alarm or other features some of the speaker docks provide, this is perfect.
Digital camera Review: Exactly what i needed Summary: 5 Stars
Works great with my 8 GB Zune. Makes hooking my Zune up to my family room speakers super simple.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Item! Summary: 4 Stars
I own a 120GB Zune that I have filled half with music and the other half with video. This component output kit is what I use to watch my Zune video content on my digital TV. It works wonderfully! I even use this set up to listen to the music stored on my Zune through the TV or stereo. My only complaint is that the remote control doesn't have a lot of range...beyond 8-10 feet it starts to get a little flaky...but otherwse this is a greta set of accessories for my Zune all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
