I purchased the ZyXel AG-225H specifically to set up a WiFi access point for my iPod. The software is straight forward requiring only basing network skills. You will need to play with your PC settings to allow internet sharing. I have not utilized the WiFi WAN location function except in passing but it has provided SSID of several local networks. The AG is about the size of a pack of gum and solidly built. My only gripe is the USB cap is separate and could be lost. The price is steep for my taste but I've been very satisfied with it's performance as a wireless access point.Digital camera Review: Works as advertised (a cool gadget)

This is one of the 'only' usb wi-fi adapters that currently supports Mac OS X.
For folks that have aging apple hardware (older powerbooks, ibooks, iMacs etc;) its nice to have a working/supported solution out there!
Instructions aren't exactly straightforward, but the software/drivers for Mac OS X can be downloaded directly from the ZyXEL website.

Does everything it's supposed to do reliably.
I wish it was smaller and had a key chain loop. It's too big to carry around on a key chain. I'd gladly give up the wireless adapter feature for that.
There are other smaller WiFi detectors out there that can go on a key chain easily, but they don't provide the detailed info this unit does.

My laptop's Wifi carrd began to fail and I purchased this USB device and it turned out to be better than I expected. I quickly finds the signal and connect me right away. The WiFi finder is a great tool since I do not need to turn on my laptop to find out if there is a hot spot and which are free. ... is awesome! I've gotten it to work under WindowsXP, Linux (Ubuntu 6.06LTS and above), Windows98 (believe it or not!), and of course as a WiFi hotspot finder. It displays WEP status, SSID, and signal strength in finder mode. No special drivers
for above systems except Win98. Gets a bit warm when used as a USB adapter. Battery
charges kind of slowly, but I don't know how long it lasts. Only complaint is that
it forgets the find list when it automatically powers itself off after a few minutes,
so you have to re-scan. Unit is re-flashable, but no new SW on ZyXEL's site. Overall
very impressive - I used it to debug a defective LinkSys WRT300N router, and LinkSys
gave me an RMA based on the results. Gives 54 MBits/s at 150' using WRT300N base
station. It's a great value for a/b/g connectivity.
