This is great product if you are looking for an alarm clock that is not so painful to hear you want to throw it across the room! I had looke din to the light clock, ya know they slowly light up the room to wake you, but I feel this is far better and cheaper! Works great with my Nano and thus far we have had not problems. Love the light blue color the light has and love that when the power goes out (as it does often here) the battery keeps it going (not the light FYI just the clock). Over all we are very pleased with this product and would by another in the future.Digital camera Review: Great choice!

I received my iHome4 a few days ago and I love it already! I really wanted speakers to play my iPod so that I didn't have to use earbuds when I'm in my bedroom, and the fact that the iH4 plays my ipod AND functions as an alarm clock is great! You really can't beat it for $50. The sound quality is great as long as you don't enable the extended bass. Like the others have said, the dimmer switch is still a little bright on it's lowest setting, but it can be turned off for those who like to sleep in complete darkness like myself. Setting the time & the alarm is very easy. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow. The design is nice as well! I have a new iPod 3G and it fits just fine. The fact that the ipod charges while docked is great, and the handbook makes it clear that the clock does NOT overcharge the ipod. It has a battery back-up for power outages. This product is great. For charging or playing my iPod nano, the iHome works just fine.
My main two complaints have to do with the alarm clock function of the iHome. I have woken up late or overslept numerous times because of this alarm clock.
1) The AC Power Adapter unplugs too easily. Any time I move the clock, plug disconnects even though it looks connected. The back up battery will keep the time set, but the alarm won't work.
2) To turn the alarm off, the button is at the top. To snooze, the bar is on the bottom. All too often, while in just woken up "Oh gawd, please let me have a few more minutes of sleep," I have reached for the snooze bar, but accidentally hit the off button because it's the first thing my hand hits while trying to find the snooze.

This is a great unit for traveling with little kids. It's got a nightlight, and sounds good enough at low volume for the essential bedtime music routine. The triangular form factor means stability when you turn it sideways w/ an ipod touch / iphone for playing a movie.
Will it rock your hotel room? No. But it will improve the hotel room's atmosphere, even with the mono sound. Packs easily.

I bought this unit almost two years ago for an apartment when working overseas. It worked very well with my Ipods (mini, classic) as well as any friends Ipod that came by. Very good sound quality for the size. Setting the alarm isn't that tricky, but you do have to hit the light to see the time at night. A back light feature would be a plus. Now that I'm not traveling for work, my daughter has staked claim to the clock for her Ipod. So far she has had no problems with it either.
