Digital camera Review: "New" model exists if you're lucky?
Summary: 4 Stars
Many of the other reviewers commented on the brightness of the LCD panel. When I first bought the iHome, it was indeed too bright on the lowest setting. However, a couple weeks ago, that iHome started malfunctioning. I returned it, and instead went to Target & bought another one.
This 2nd one was different in that:
1. The Gradual Wake feature is more gradual (other reviewers commented how it was too loud, and went from soft to thunderous in 2 seconds).
2. The LCD panel's dimmest setting is now perfect.. AND, it dims to a different color. Normally the LCD is a "black letter on white-ish background" (similar to the LCD on the old black & white iPods/iPod mini).
The iHome used to take the black-on-white and dim that. Now instead, the brightest setting is like that, but the middle setting turrns the LCD background to a familiar green-ish turquoise, and the dimmest setting takes that green-background and turns it nearly off.
So, if you are considering this based on the annoyance of the LCD brightness, maybe the company made changes to their iHome models & did a "silent upgrade" (a la Apple), and you might be one of the lucky ones. I'd recommend checking this out at a local retailer to see if you like it.

You can also wake or sleep to FM/AM radio or wake to a traditional buzzer. The compact unit measures roughly 9 x 3 x 6 inches (W x H x D) yet comes complete with stereo speakers, drift-free digital FM/AM radio tuning, a multifunction LCD with adjustable backlighting, and the ability to charge your docking iPod's battery right from its center seat. (The iH5 includes handy inserts to accommodate any type of docking iPod: 3G, 4G, iPod mini, or iPod photo.)
