Digital camera Review: A tiny wonder - great for netbooks!

I was looking for some sort of amplified speaker for my netbook, as its built-in speakers are very weak. Many I saw, including a "sound bar" sold by the netbook maker, were quite large and I wanted something that did not add much bulk. The iHome iHM7 fits the bill exactly - even though I missed the Gold Box deal, I gladly paid the regular price for it.
I was impressed at how small the iHM7 was when collapsed. It opens easily and connects to my netbook or any audio device with a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) headphone jack. A USB port is used for charging, and a carrying bag is included. The design is very thoughtful and you can even listen while charging the internal battery. (Note that this is not a "USB speaker" - the USB connection is for charging only.)
The sound from the iHM7 is quite decent for such a small package and easily beats the netbook. I also connected it to my iPhone and it was satisfying there too. You won't mistake the iHM7 for an "audiophile grade" speaker, but it's great for something that weighs so little and fits in your pocket.

Fold Up and Go
The iHM7 features a pair of collapsible speakers connected by a spring system. When you want to use them, you just give them a quick twist, and the speakers extend. The rubberized paint texture gives them a great look and soft feel, perfect for frequent use.
When folded up, the speakers attach magnetically for portability, in a capsule shape. A protective carry case and cord wrap are also included for added convenience.
Audio Jack
Connect most any audio device thanks to the standard 3.5-mm audio jack: all iPod/iPhone models, MP3 players, CD players--you name it. An audio cable is also supplied in case you don't have one lying around.
