I originally bought this to play my iPod in the hospital while I was in labor w/ my daughter (we weren't allowed to use AC power). It worked great for that purpose and I have found many great uses for it since. The sound quality, of course, isn't fantastic (you get what you pay for!), and it plays only as loud as your iPod goes, but I have found this to be perfect for listening to audiobooks and downloaded talk radio. I use it almost daily, which has led to its only drawback--it drains batteries FAST. I am constantly replacing them.
