Digital camera reviews of iLap Laptop Stand 15? W for MacBook Pro by Rain Design (10025)Digital camera Review: It saves me from the sharp corners! Summary: 4 Stars
I only bought this for one reason. The sharp corners on my macbook pro were killing my wrists. I know I'm not supposed to be sitting down with my wrist resting on the edge, but that's how it is. This thing is saving my wrist, and that's that!
Digital camera Review: Keep your stuff cool Summary: 5 Stars
There's nothing worse than the oven-like temps that a MacBook brings to a man's "stuff". That's why I went out and bought an iLap. Cool design and very functional. Definitely go get one or burn your legs and "stuff".
Digital camera Review: Laptop Stand Summary: 4 Stars
Materials seem to be of high quality.
It functions exactly as advertised.
I use it on my desk almost exclusively so I have removed the large pad from the front.
The "rubber" buttons provided for the surface between the unit and the computer work well to hold the computer from slipping and to provide an air channel for cooling.
The only slight crticism is that the hinge points, a rivit, seemed too loose to me. I tightened them on an anvil and the unit seems more soild.
Digital camera Review: Lightweight and works well Summary: 5 Stars
I use this with a 15" MacBook Pro and it works great to keep my legs and lap cool. Very comfortable when working on the couch or in bed.
My computer was sliding around a bit so I attached the extra rubber feet (provided with the iLap) to the top surface of the iLap and now it really stays in place.
The only minor issue is that the front velvet pad is only attached to the bottom side, so it is a bit "loose" and doesn't stay flush with the front of the computer. It doesn't bother me but if it did I could probably fix it with a small bit of velcro tape on the top side.
Digital camera Review: Multiuse stand Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to use when watching DVDs on my PowerBook in bed, and it works quite well for that. The padded stand keeps the computer from "cooking" my legs (PowerBooks run very hot!). But I discovered the stand is also useful at my desk -- the padded handrest is a nice feature, and the amount of elevation and tilt suit me just fine.
