Digital camera reviews of iriver AFT 100 Mobile FM Transmitter

Digital camera Review: A few things to remember...
Summary: 5 Stars

At first I got this I thought it was TERRIBLE. Extremely Staticky and not worth the money.

BUT-

Then I Actually read a bit more and found that you HAVE to turn down the volume as much as possible on your MP3 or PDA or whatever otherwise it doesnt work.

After figuring this out I was amazed at how well it works. I LOVE the preset Idea and the digital tuning works great!

I can just preset the stations on FM2 on my car and then switch if it starts getting staticky which is actually RARE! I can barely tell the difference between a CD and the Transmitter unless the music is very loud.

As far as the Auto-Shutoff feature goes, I dont really see the point of it other than a car that will continue to power something after the car is turned off, however it doesnt seem to effect me much.. During one song that was very very quiet at parts it shut off once. I simply turned up the volume of my pda and it never did it again.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking a FM transmitter. I figured I should leave a review of it being good seeming as thats the only reason I bought one off of here :)

Digital camera Review: A good little solution
Summary: 4 Stars

I inherited an older MP3 player from my kid who went Ipod. So I needed a way to easily play it in the car during those exciting commutes in traffic. I have to admit I chose the Iriver AFT 100 after much web surfing and reading other reviews. This little (light) transmitter works pretty well! I live in Houston where the FM band is pretty crowded. The three preset feature is useful. I tend to stay on 106.3 and get low noise and no dropouts. It is not as good as a direct hardwire connect of course but it does the job. My MP3 has a line output as well as a phone jack. The line level output was too high and overloaded the AFT 100. But the earphone jack worked quite well and allows balancing the volume with the MP3 control as well as the car radio volume.
I don't give it 5 stars because it DOES have a lttle noise (again, not a real problem in a car - I have a Durango and it is not Lexus quiet on the road!) and it is a very light plastic affair that looks like it can get broken off if you're not careful.
But for now, it is the best solution I have found to carry my music library on the road and lose all the CD wallets I used to carry.

Digital camera Review: A little wireless thingy-doodle
Summary: 4 Stars

I didn't know such a creature existed until my son-in-law sent me the link and told me I should get one. I don't have a CD player in my car (it's very basic with just a radio) so this is ideal. I have trouble finding a setting (on the radio) that doesn't have a station bleeding in so the sound quality is probably more the area's fault than the transmitter's. At any rate, now I can listen to what I want to rather than what's on the radio and that's definitely a plus. I understand this particular item is no longer manufactured but the concept is still around. What's more, it works.

Digital camera Review: A quality FM Car Solution for GPS - Mp3 Players
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a bit skeptical that my Nuvi 350 GPS / Mp3 / Audible Books audio output would translate well in a car stereo system. After finding 3 unused FM channels the FM moblie transmitter didn't skip a beat. The only problem may be access to a second 12V DC source in some vehicles to power a portable device off battery,

Digital camera Review: A very convenient gadget
Summary: 4 Stars

This item is probably the best thing you can put it your cigarette lighter if you have an MP3 player. No more carrying around and fumbling with CD's in the car. Sound quality and max volume suffer a little with the "s" sounds and WOW effects when compared to CD's, but it's definitely worth it if you want to make car audio more convenient.
