Digital camera reviews of iriver AFT 100 Mobile FM Transmitter

Digital camera Review: AWESOME!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product not expecting too much, when I got it in the mail it was smaller than I expected which was a plus. It worked perfectly with my iPod touch, and I am so glad I didn't purchase one of the more expensive ones from the store (priced around $50-$80). I read the reviews and that was what made me decide to buy it, and I was so happy with it I decided to write my own review. :) A+++++

Digital camera Review: About to buy a second one
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these for my husband about four years ago. It died from a fatal kid-induced accident and I'm going to buy another. I also recommended it to someone who lived in Chicago and they said it worked great there.

Digital camera Review: Absolutely the best FM transmitter I've ever owned
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the absolute best FM transmitter I've ever owned.

I'd purchased several cheap FM transmitters over the years. Most of them were too "weak" -- even when I found a relatively isolated and clear FM channel, I had static, bleed-over from other channels, etc.

When I received a Microsoft Zune for Christmas several years ago, I thought I'd upgrade, and I purchased the Zune Car Pack. The charger in the car pack worked fine, but the transmitter was the pits. Awful. Almost useless.

Based on reviews on Amazon, I tried the iRiver. It works great! I've programmed three different stations in my normal driving area, and I'm happy... I mis-treated my first iRiver (the cord was frayed from pulling it from between or under the seats), and I didn't hesitate to buy another.

Digital camera Review: Acceptable, but far from Perfect
Summary: 3 Stars

I just bought this product, expecting it to send my audio from my mp3 player (Creative Zen Vision M 60GB). It does what it promises, and the tuning feature is nice, but the cord is WAY too long, and counteracts it's performance. I believe that it is acting like an antenna and picking up unwanted static and feedback, and sending it to the car stereo. I tried playing with the configuration of the cord (moving it closer/further to the antenna, straightening it out, compacting it, etc.) but to no avail (I lied, sometimes this helps...sometimes). I haven't had any problems with the auto-shut-off feature, though (which is VERY convenient, by the way). I also tried a wide array of radio frequencies. I don't live in a very "radio-noisy" town, so finding an empty frequency isn't difficult, but it still refuses to give me some clean music.
I'm not sure of the caliber of FM transmitters nowadays (this is my first one) but I enjoy my music WITHOUT hearing a subtle hiss or crackle (most of the time MORE than subtle), or a sudden drop in quality. Since the antenna of my car is in the rear-right, and my cigarette lighter is in the dash, I might consider purchasing a 12V cigarette lighter extension(to get the transmitter closer to the antenna). If anyone knows how to make this thing work the way it should, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Digital camera Review: Acceptable.
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had a bad experience with FM transmitters before, but this one makes up for it somewhat. My car has neither a CD player nor a tape deck, so radio is the only way to go for me. Occasionally, the signal will cut out when riding over bumpy roads, but other than that I've had a good time with this. The 30 second shutoff should have been optional, and sometimes it seems that the connection with the lighter isn't quite as snug as it should be, though.
